Sisters in Christ is a Wednesday morning weekly Bible study group open to all women. We fellowship, share prayer concerns, and discuss a wide variety of Biblical topics, usually focusing on a book we are all reading. Among the studies we have done in the past are ones by Beth Moore, Phillip Yancey, Liz Curtis Higgs, and John Ortberg. This fall we will be starting off with a study by Adam Hamilton entitled Christianity's Family Tree, which looks at several main denominations of Christianity. We will learn about the history and beliefs that define these diverse groups, with an emphasis on what can we learn from each and how can we become more united as Christians. We meet on Wednesday mornings from 9:15 to 11:00 a.m. Childcare is available with a reservation through

Classic Women is a group of " 50 and older" women of VRUMC. We meet on the second Saturday of the month for fellowship, friendship, and fun. Our purpose is twofold: to celebrate and support each other through friendship; and to serve others in the community through various mission projects. We are just concluding the CCA Jeans and Socks Back to School drive. We have collected, with the congregation's help, 99 pairs of jeans, and 340 pairs of socks. Other mission projects of Classic Women include: supporting Denton County Friends of the Family by collecting blankets and making Easter baskets for the children and mothers; making Jared Boxes for the children at Children's Hospital of Dallas, to provide them a special diversion while they receive chemotherapy or other medical treatments; and providing meals at Ronald McDonald House.
We have a group of about 20 ladies who regularly participate in Classic Women activities. Our meetings are always fun and full of lots of laughter! We invite any "classics" who enjoy missions and like to have fun to join us!
