Children's Sunday School

Vista Ridge UMC adopts the philosophy that Christian education, linked with the worship experience, is a core element in making disciples of Jesus Christ through building relationships with God and neighbor. Our focus is creating an atmosphere to apply biblical principles to daily life, through various formats, and for all ages, providing for the formation of faith within the larger community.

Nursery is provided for children, ages 0 to 23 months, during all three worship services.

Children, ages 4 through 1st grade, have the option to attend Children's Church during worship services. Contact Director of Children's Ministries at 972-315-5225, ext 204 for more information.

Adult Sunday School

Sojourners
Sojourners will be studying God's word and is intended for everyone. We will take our time and look closely at the context of the writings and the relationship with other scripture. All this is focused on learning more about the God we love, how His word is alive and active in our lives today, and how we can reflect that to others, drawing them closer to God.

Open Door
The Open Door class consists of couples ranging in age from 35-55 with children of all ages. Even though we are mainly couples, it is not unusual for just one spouse to be present. Open Door class members actively participate in church leadership, mission/service projects, and holiday celebrations. This class has monthly social outings with and without children. More importantly, Open Door class is committed to helping each other know God in a deeper way through a combination of Biblical study, theological and ethical discussions, and community outreach.

Christianity Today
This class is an open discussion group that considers various perspectives and values and encourages the viewpoints of the members of the class. Class discussions typically involve issues or events that affect our daily lives as Christians. We explore what it means to be a Christian in today's world.

Young Couples Bible Study
The Young Couples class focuses on discussion related to Bible study, relationships, and spiritual growth. The class focuses on issues related to young couples in an environment that encourages fellowship and discussion with one another.

Youth Sunday School

Youth at Vista Ridge United Methodist are broken into two age-appropriate groupings, middle-high and senior high, each with consistent values, but different programs with age appropriate activities. Youth meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45 in Wesley Hall for Sunday School
